Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Richard C. Holbrooke will brief the press on his trip to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia, Georgia and Germany on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carl T. Rowan Press Briefing Room (Room 2209) of the Department of State.

Ambassador Holbrooke recently returned from his seventh trip this year to Afghanistan and Pakistan, which also that included stops in Central Asia – the first visits in his capacity as SRAP - as well as Georgia and Germany. The trip was focused on strengthening dialogue, developing further partnerships, consolidating support and deepening further regional linkage. We are connected by a common threat and common challenge and therefore a common purpose. Peace and security in the region depends on regional cooperation and rebuilding Afghanistan as a secure and stable state.

This event is open to the press.

Press should use the 23rd Street entrance to the State Department and must be processed through security by 12:45 pm.
