Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Michael H. Posner will brief reporters on Friday, May 14, at 4:00 p.m., at the conclusion of the two-day U.S.-China Human Rights Dialogue. This on-the-record, on-camera press briefing will take place in the Department of State’s press briefing room, room 2209.
Media may attend the briefing upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo ID card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying employment as a journalist and an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
Press should allow adequate time to process through security at the 23rd Street entrance. However, attendees without a personal State Department Building Pass must be escorted out of the building after the briefing, through the C Street lobby. Please alert the Office of Press Relations, room 2109, in advance if you may need to depart before the end of the briefing.
