Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs, Dr. Esther Brimmer, will travel to Rome and Geneva from June 21 to 25 for consultations with counterparts and international organizations.
In Rome, Dr. Brimmer will meet with leaders of various UN agencies dealing with food security issues, including the World Food Program, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development. She will also speak to a group of students from John Cabot University about the President’s vision for invigorated U.S. multilateral engagement.
On June 23, Dr. Brimmer will travel to Geneva where she will meet with counterparts and co-chair a meeting of the UN directors from the Geneva Group , a twice-yearly assembly of sixteen of the largest contributors to the United Nations system, to discuss UN administrative and financial matters.
