U.S. Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W. Patterson will respond to reporters’ questions on Pakistan issues, including U.S. relief for flood victims, in a teleconference call on Friday, August 6, at 11 a.m. EDT. The U.S. Department of State recently released fact sheets on the U.S. response to the Pakistan flooding disaster. The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad issued a statement on U.S. efforts to raise money for emergency relief in Pakistan using the latest communications technologies. By texting the word SWAT to telephone number 50555, U.S. cellular phone users will be able to donate $10 to help flood victims in Pakistan through the U.N. High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
