Following an event at which Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton announces the launch of the GSMA mWomen Program, an initiative of the GSMA Development Fund, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Melanne Verveer will speak at the top of the daily press briefing Thursday, October 7 at 1:30 p.m. in the State Department press briefing room, room 2209.
Ambassador Verveer will be joined by Senior Advisor for Innovation to the Secretary of State Alec Ross; founder of the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women and former British First Lady Cherie Blair; and CEO of GSMA Rob Conway, all of whom will be on hand to respond to questions from reporters.
Media representatives may attend the press conference upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver’s license, passport.)
