Assistant Secretary for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Jose Fernandez will be traveling to Marrakech, Morocco, from October 25 to October 28, 2010.
On October 25 Assistant Secretary Fernandez will speak at the annual INJAZ al-Arab Young Arab Entrepreneurs Competition, emphasizing U.S. support for youth entrepreneurs and the upcoming U.S.-Maghreb Entrepreneurship Conference December 1 through 2 in Algiers. On October 26, he will meet with Moroccan delegates to the Presidential Summit on Entrepreneurship.
From October 26 through 27, the Assistant Secretary will attend the World Economic Forum, where he will participate in discussion of such issues as fostering U.S.-Muslim relations and enhancing infrastructure investment across the Middle East; building stronger business cooperation between entrepreneurs in the Maghreb and with the United States; and increasing U.S. economic engagement in the North African and Mediterranean regions.
