Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Melanne Verveer will visit Copenhagen, Denmark October 28-30 to participate in the “Role of Women in Global Security” two-day conference hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Denmark and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The conference coincides with the 10th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on “Women, Peace and Security.”
Ambassador Verveer will speak at the opening of the conference on October 29. Conference partners include the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and the U.S. Embassies in the Nordic and Baltic countries. During her visit, Ambassador Verveer will also hold bilateral meetings with officials from participating governments.
