On Thursday, January 6, at 9:00 a.m., Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Arturo A. Valenzuela will deliver opening remarks at the Brookings Institution event "Shifting the Balance: The Obama Administration and the Americas – A Midterm Assessment" in the Brookings Institution Falk Auditorium, 1775 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C.
Assistant Secretary Valenzuela will address the state of U.S.-Latin American relations. He will be joined by Brookings Nonresident Senior Fellow Abraham Lowenthal, Professor at the University of Southern California, and Senior Fellow Ted Piccone, Deputy Director of Foreign Policy at Brookings.
