Question: Was there any damage to State Department property/facilities due to today’s earthquake? If so, please provide details?
Answer: All State Department buildings in the metropolitan area have been initially inspected for structural damage after the tremors earlier this afternoon. No significant damage to any building has been noted. Further examinations are being conducted on several older buildings to insure no latent damage is present. We anticipate that all State Department buildings will be open for business tomorrow (Wednesday) morning.
