Melanne Verveer, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, will travel to Paris, France October 29-31, 2011.
In Paris, Ambassador Verveer and U.S. Ambassador to the OECD Karen Kornbluh will welcome and introduce the Pre-G20 Event Growing Economies through Women’s Entrepreneurship. The pre-G20 event is co-hosted by the United States and the OECD and builds on the recent APEC Women and the Economy Summit hosted by the United States and chaired by Secretary Clinton. Participants include government officials, journalists, private sector executives, and members of academia and civil society organizations working to highlight and increase the role of women in the global economy.
In Paris, Ambassador Verveer will also meet with OECD officials to discuss the upcoming High-Level Aid Effectiveness Forum in Busan.
She will return to Washington, D.C. on November 1.
