On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I am delighted to send best wishes to the people of the Federated States of Micronesia on the anniversary of your Independence this November 3.
Our two countries share a long history of friendship. As Micronesians strive for a better future, we look forward to continuing to cooperate on important issues, from strengthening regional security to mitigating environmental threats to improving health and education services for all Micronesians. I am grateful to the Micronesians who have served and continue to serve voluntarily in the United States Armed Forces.
The United States is committed to continuing our partnership and friendship. Congratulations and warmest wishes for a year of progress, prosperity, and peace.
