Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy R. Sherman will travel to Japan, the Republic of Korea, and China November 20-23, 2011.
Arriving in Tokyo on November 20, Ambassador Sherman will meet November 21 with senior Japanese political figures and senior government officials to discuss a broad range of bilateral, regional and global issues. The visit signals the enduring commitment to our partnership with Japan and provides an opportunity to support Japan’s active global role.
Ambassador Sherman travels to Seoul on November 21. On November 22, she will meet with a range of senior officials to explore how to expand the depth and breadth of our alliance. The visit will help maintain the positive momentum in the relationship following President Lee’s state visit to Washington.
From Seoul, Ambassador Sherman travels to Beijing on November 22. She will meet November 23 with a range of senior government and party officials. Her visit reflects continuing high-level U.S. engagement with China and our commitment to deepening cooperation in a wide range of areas.
