Melanne Verveer, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, will travel to Busan, Republic of Korea to participate in the 4th High-Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness from November 28 through November 30, 2011.
In Busan, Ambassador Verveer will deliver opening and closing remarks at a gender-focused discussion on “Progress in Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment since the Paris Declaration.” Specifically, she will moderate one of the two roundtables focused on statistics, results, and accountability for development effectiveness. She will also participate in meetings with the Australian and the Republic of Korean governments, as well as the United Nations and representatives from the various government and international development agencies.
