The next meeting of the Arms Control and International Security Working Group will be on December 14 in Washington, D.C. Ellen O. Tauscher, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, will chair the U.S. interagency team. Sergey Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister, will chair the Russian interagency team.
The Arms Control and International Security Working Group, established in 2009 under the auspices of the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission, addresses 21st century challenges including enhancing stability and transparency, cooperating on missile defense, preventing the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and assessing common threats.
