Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs Jose W. Fernandez will travel to Bogota, Colombia, and Lima, Peru, from February 13 to February 17, 2012. In Colombia, Assistant Secretary Fernandez will meet with economic officials and business community representatives to discuss trade and investment. He will also speak to students at El Externado University about the U.S.-Colombian economic relationship. In Peru, Assistant Secretary Fernandez will meet with government officials and business community representatives to discuss trade, infrastructure development, entrepreneurship and social inclusion.
En route to Colombia, Assistant Secretary Fernandez will meet with reporters in Miami, Florida, to discuss the State Department’s focus on fostering a partnership with Latin America based on mutual respect, common interests, and shared values.
