Assistant Secretary Jose W. Fernandez will travel to the Gulf region from February 27 to March 6 to meet with economic officials and business community representatives to discuss deepening our bilateral trade and investment relationship, Gulf investment in North Africa and participation in the Deauville Partnership, the National Export Initiative, infrastructure opportunities for U.S. companies, and entrepreneurship.
Assistant Secretary Fernandez will travel to Doha, Qatar from February 27 to February 29, where he will meet with government officials and private sector representatives to discuss the business and investment climate.
He will continue on to Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates from March 1 to March 2, where he will he will lead the U.S. delegation to the inaugural meeting of the U.S.-U.A.E. Economic Policy Dialogue (EPD). The EPD will serve as a coordinating and convening mechanism for economic and commercial agencies and ministries from the U.S. and UAE governments and provide a regular forum to identify action items that will strengthen the U.S.-UAE economic and commercial relationship.
From March 3 to March 6, Assistant Secretary Fernandez will travel to Jeddah and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia where he will meet with government officials and private sector representatives and speak at the Jeddah Economic Forum on ways to promote economic growth.
