Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro will travel to Israel March 14-15 to lead the U.S. delegation to the U.S.-Israel Joint Political-Military Group.
The Joint Political-Military Group meets annually, alternating between Washington and Tel Aviv, and includes representatives from the Department of State and the Department of Defense and their counterparts from Israel’s Foreign and Defense Ministries. The discussions will cover a wide range of political-military issues and are aimed at maintaining Israel’s qualitative military edge.
