Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Hannah Rosenthal will travel to Latvia from April 19-23, 2012. In Riga, Special Envoy Rosenthal will meet with the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding Latvia’s leadership in combating anti-Semitism and extremism. She will also visit the Ministry of Education to discuss programs on combating discrimination.
Special Envoy Rosenthal will attend a joint meeting with the Latvian State Police and the NGO Hate Crimes Seminar Group to discuss hate crimes investigation training. In addition, she will speak about the U.S. perspective of a multi-ethnic heritage at Riga’s Jugla High School and meet with representatives of Latvia’s Jewish community.
