The Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) announces the $1 million award of the Recife Consular Expansion project to Vistas Construction of Illinois, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois.

This project will improve circulation for visa applicants, and includes reconfiguration and expansion of office space to accommodate two shifts of interviews for non‑immigrant visa applicants and a larger consular staff. The project, scheduled for completion in December 2012, will substantially increase daily processing of non-immigrant visa applicants and will augment the number of Brazilian tourists able to visit the United States.
