Ambassador Robert King, Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues, will travel to Tokyo and Seoul, June 7-15.
From June 7- 9, Ambassador King will be in Tokyo where he will meet with senior Japanese Government officials including Minister for the Abduction Issue Jin Matsubara, and MOFA Director General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs Shinsuke Sugiyama.
From June 9-15, Ambassador King will meet in Seoul with senior Republic of Korea (ROK) Government officials including ROK Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security Issues Lim Sung-nam and ROK Deputy National Security Advisor Kim Tae-hyo. Ambassador King also will give the keynote address at the Korea Institute for National Unification’s International Conference on North Korean Human Rights.
Ambassador King will return to Washington on June 15.
