Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs Reta Jo Lewis is traveling in Russia, July 21-31, to promote subnational cooperation. She is visiting oblasts and cities throughout Russia, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Vladivostok.
While in Russia, Special Representative Lewis will meet with federal and local government officials, as well as leaders from the Russian business and academic communities to discuss their interest in developing U.S.-Russia partnerships on the municipal and state level.
This is Special Representative Lewis’ first visit to Russia. Over the past two years, Special Representative Lewis has led diverse initiatives to promote global engagement with state and local leaders in Brazil, China, India, and South Africa.
