The U.S. Department of State is teaming up with the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) to send one student to the United Nations as the first-ever U.S. Youth Observer.
The individual chosen as the U.S. Youth Observer will attend events during UN General Assembly week in New York City, as well as a number of Committee and side events around the General Assembly throughout the fall.
In addition to attending meetings, the U.S. Youth Observer will travel the country speaking to UNA-USA Chapters; work with UNA-USA on future youth roles at the United Nations; and tweet, blog, and address the public and media on his or her experiences.
