Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs Jose W. Fernandez will travel to Prague, Czech Republic, September 6-7 to meet with government officials and businesses leaders for discussions on how to further expand the U.S.-Czech Republic economic relationship.
The Czech Republic is a NATO ally and a key partner on a broad range of issues, and our economic and commercial relationship is a significant part of our overall partnership. In Prague, Assistant Secretary Fernandez will focus on investment as a key area for engagement. The United States is one of the top five sources of foreign investment in the Czech Republic, and the United States welcomes greater investment from the Czech Republic consistent with the SelectUSA initiative launched by President Obama last year.
