Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy R. Sherman will travel to Ottawa, Canada, November 13. She will lead a U.S. delegation to the second meeting of the U.S.-Canada High Level Policy Review Group. The first meeting was held in Washington in May 2012.
Senior U.S. and Canadian officials will discuss a wide range of global and regional issues including dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Africa, and the Western Hemisphere. The delegation will also include Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta S. Jacobson; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Reuben Brigety; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Kin Moy; Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Geoffrey Pyatt; Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Stephen Seche; Coordinator for Cyber Issues Christopher Painter; and Acting Director of Partnerships and Strategic Communications Raphael Carland, Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations.
The U.S. relationship with Canada is one of the closest and most extensive between two countries. Regular high-level dialogue is a key component of our partnership and our work to achieve common goals around the world.
