Acting Special Representative and Policy Coordinator for Burma W. Patrick Murphy will travel to Brussels, London, New Delhi, Rangoon, and Beijing, December 5-20, to consult with international partners. He will meet with senior government officials, NGOs, think tanks, academics, and civil society groups to discuss U.S. policy toward Burma and coordination of efforts to support and strengthen reform and reconciliation efforts in that country.
He will be in Brussels, December 6-7; London, December 7-8; New Delhi, December 9-12; and Beijing, December 19-20.
Special Representative Murphy will also visit Burma, December 12-18, where he will consult with Burmese Government officials and ethnic and civil society leaders in Rangoon and Naypyitaw. He will also participate, with U.S. Ambassador Derek Mitchell, in MTV’s End Exploitation and Trafficking (EXIT) event to increase awareness and prevention of human trafficking.
