Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor Michael H. Posner will travel to Bahrain, Egypt, and Tunisia December 8-14. In Bahrain, he will participate in the Manama Dialogue with Deputy Secretary Burns and participate in meetings with Government of Bahrain officials and members of civil society. In Egypt, he will discuss the ongoing democratic transition process and human rights issues with government officials, political party representatives, civil society activists, and interfaith groups. In Tunisia, he will support Secretary Clinton’s participation in the Forum for the Future and meet with civil society groups participating in that event.
