On December 11, the Secretary of State’s Special Representative for Global Partnerships will convene a high-level partnership roundtable discussion at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates which is taking place December 11-12, 2012. The roundtable event will bring together over 100 high-level business executives, representatives from non-governmental organizations, entrepreneurs, and government officials to discuss the impact of the Partners for a New Beginning (PNB) initiative in promoting entrepreneurship in the Middle East and North Africa.
PNB was launched by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2010 as a cross-cutting global network of business leaders, community representatives, and entrepreneurs who are committed to building effective local partnerships that promote economic opportunity, foster advances in science and technology, enhance educational opportunities, and catalyze exchanges to enhance mutual understanding in Muslim-majority nations. The partnership now encompasses 10 locally-owned and driven chapters across the region.
The roundtable discussion will be held on December 11, 2012 at 5:30 pm at the Sheikh Saeed Hall 2, Theater 3, Dubai World Trade Center on the sidelines of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit and will highlight key accomplishments of the partnership and identify new partnership opportunities.
Featured speakers include: Kris Balderston, Special Representative of Global Partnerships, U.S. Department of State; Ender Yorgancilar, Board Member, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB); Soraya Salti, Chair of the Partners for a New Beginning Jordan; Ahmad Jalal, Founding Director, Pakistan Fast Growth 100; Aureos MENA Fund and Abraaj Capital; and Ferruh Gurtas, Corporate Affairs Director, Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Intel Corporation.
