The U.S. Department of State is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 17th at 11:30 a.m. in Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate the official opening of the U.S. Department of State Human Resources Service Center.

Dignitaries attending the event include Mayor of North Charleston Keith Summey, city council members from Charleston and North Charleston, board members from the Charleston Redevelopment Authority and Chamber of Commerce, Under Secretary for Management Patrick Kennedy, and Director General for Foreign Service and Director for Human Resources Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

Human Resources is a key function to the success of the Department. The new state-of-the-art facility greatly enhances the Department’s ability to make the best use of limited resources to achieve more efficient, effective, accountable, and transparent service.

The HR Service Center also highlights the culmination of hard work from Department employees in Washington and Charleston and the hospitality and support from the cities of Charleston and North Charleston and the state of South Carolina.

The HR Service Center is located on the former Charleston Navy Base at 1999 Dyess Avenue Building E, Charleston, South Carolina 29405. If you would like to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony, please send an email to HRSharedServices@state.gov by December 14th.
