Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs Reta Jo Lewis will travel to Paris, France, January 28-February 1, to promote subnational engagement.
Special Representative Lewis will participate in the Global Conference of Local Elected Women; “Gender Equality, a Priority for Global Development,” which will be attended by over 300 local elected women from around the world. The Conference is being co-sponsored by the City of Paris and United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the voice and world advocate of democratic local self-government. Special Representative Lewis will serve on the Conference’s opening roundtable discussion, “Participation of Women in Local Decision-Making,” on January 31.
While in Paris, Special Representative Lewis also will meet with local elected officials and the UCLG leadership team.
