Special Envoy to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Rashad Hussain traveled to Sana’a, Yemen on February 9 to meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abu-Bakr Al-Qirbi and members of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, members of civil society, and religious leaders.
Special Envoy Hussain underscored U.S. support for the people of Yemen as they seek meaningful change through their political transition, including during the upcoming National Dialogue. He heard from Yemenis about the humanitarian challenges facing millions of Yemenis and emphasized a U.S. commitment to continued assistance to address these critical needs. He also discussed U.S. engagement with Muslim communities around the world.
