Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake Jr. will travel to San Francisco and Berkeley, California March 21-22.
On Thursday March 21, Assistant Secretary Blake will deliver remarks on “The U.S.-India Partnership in the Asian Century” at the University of California, Berkeley. On Friday March 22 in San Francisco, Assistant Secretary Blake will participate in an Institute for International Education roundtable discussion on U.S.-India cooperation on education issues, including community colleges, girls’ education in India, strategies for expanding the numbers of U.S. students in India and potential new areas for future cooperation. He will also lead a roundtable on U.S.-India innovation and science and technology cooperation hosted by the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC). Before returning to Washington, Assistant Secretary Blake will join U.S. Representative Mike Honda at the Microsoft Sunnyvale Campus for a discussion on the U.S.-India economic relationship and lessons from both India and Silicon Valley with local elected officials, business innovators, and community leaders.
