U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator Ambassador Eric Goosby will travel to Vietnam, May 5-7, to engage in high-level discussions on the response to HIV/AIDS by the Government of Vietnam and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). Ambassador Goosby will be meeting with key Vietnamese Government officials, development partners, and nongovernmental organizations, to see firsthand the important work being done to fight HIV/AIDS in Vietnam.
Ambassador Eric Goosby leads all U.S. Government international HIV/AIDS efforts as the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator. In this role, Ambassador Goosby oversees implementation of PEPFAR, as well as U.S. Government engagement with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Ambassador Goosby also heads the Office of Global Health Diplomacy at the U.S. Department of State.
