Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations Rick Barton will deliver a keynote address at the Society for International Development’s Annual Conference on June 6, 2013, regarding the unique mission of CSO in preventing and mitigating conflict.

This year’s conference, “Development Goals: How We Got Here and What Comes Next,” will focus on the latest trends and topics in international development.

A/S Barton’s remarks will begin at 2:50 p.m., at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, Washington, DC 20001.

This event will be open to the press.

Media representatives may attend this event free of charge upon presentation of either a media-issued photo identification card, or a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).

To register, please send your name and media affiliation to annualconference@sidw.org. A press packet will be made available the day of the conference.

To pick up your conference pass, please check-in at the registration desk, located in the Convention Center concourse between rooms 151A & 151B. The nearest entrances to our conference space at the Convention Center are on the corner of 7th Street and M Street and on L Street between 7th and 9th. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and will remain open for the rest of the day.
