Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues Robert King will travel to China, the Republic of Korea (ROK), and Japan August 19-29 for regular consultations with senior officials and civil society groups on a range of human rights and humanitarian issues.
Ambassador King will be in China August 19-21 for meetings with senior Chinese, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and World Food Program officials.
Ambassador King will be in the ROK August 22-27 for meetings with senior ROK government officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Unification, and the Blue House. He will also meet with civil society groups and North Koreans resettled in the ROK.
Ambassador King will be in Japan August 28 for meetings with senior Japanese government officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
