The 1105 Government Information Group has recognized a member of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) as a 2013 Rising Star. The award highlights outstanding work and accomplishments for those who have gone above and beyond their job descriptions to make a broader impact. This year’s awardee is Eric Brassil, an Office Management Specialist within IRM’s Office of eDiplomacy.
The Rising Star award highlights up-and-coming staff in the public and private sectors for making an early — and substantive — mark in the government IT community. An independent panel of judges organized by the 1105 Government Information Group, publishers of Federal Computer Week and Government Computer News, made the selections, which this year awarded 25 recipients from among more than 160 nominees.
The Bureau of Information Resource Management’s Office of eDiplomacy has been at the forefront of putting new innovations into practice. Eric Brassil is being recognized for his work in developing and providing hands-on training on knowledge management tools to help State Department Office Management Specialists work more efficiently and collaborate with one another, both at State’s headquarters in Washington, DC and at U.S. embassies and consulates around the world.
This latest success highlights the Department’s commitment to recruit talented information management innovators to help advance American diplomacy.
