Foreign Affairs Officer Andrew Rabens, currently serving as Special Advisor for Youth Engagement in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Office of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, will receive the prestigious 2013 Service to America ‘Call to Service’ Medal from the Partnership for Public Service at the Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medal Awards Gala on Thursday, October 3, 2013. Mr. Rabens organized the Active Citizen Summit, a 10-day program in the United States for young leaders from the Middle East and North Africa to share ideas, build relationships, and learn about American democracy.
The Call to Service Medal recognizes a federal employee whose professional achievements reflect the important contributions that a new generation brings to public service. Further information on Mr. Rabens’ contributions is available at: http://servicetoamericamedals.org.
Mr. Rabens will be honored along with seven other award recipients at a dinner and awards ceremony on October 3rd at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C.
