Secretary Kerry To Deliver Remarks at Veterans Day Recognition Event

Secretary of State John Kerry will pay tribute to veterans who answered the call to service in remarks commemorating Veterans Day during an event hosted by the Office of Civil Rights at the Department of State on November 13.

U.S. Representative and decorated Iraq veteran Tammy Duckworth of Illinois will join Secretary Kerry as the keynote speaker.

Congresswoman Duckworth will take questions following her remarks.

The event will be open to the press and begin at 1:00 p.m. in the George Marshall Center.

Pre set for video cameras: 11:45 a.m. from the 21st Street Entrance.

Final access for journalists and still photographers: 12:30 p.m. from the 21st Street Entrance.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport).
