Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal will travel to Tokyo on November 12 for the fifth U.S.-India-Japan trilateral consultation. Their discussions will focus on enhancing regional connectivity, economic prosperity, maritime security, and response to natural disasters.
Following her visit to Tokyo, Assistant Secretary Biswal will continue to Dhaka for her first bilateral visit to Bangladesh. There, she will discuss shared global, regional, and bilateral priorities with Bangladeshi Government, opposition, labor, and civil society leaders. While in Bangladesh, she will meet with government officials, political leaders, labor groups, and civil society representatives.
