The December edition of Washingtonian magazine has named the Department of State as one of the 50 Great Places to Work for 2013. The Department is one of only five federal agencies to earn this distinction.
Federal agencies were chosen based on a combination of Partnership for Public Service rankings and hiring potential. The Department of State was selected because its employees have the opportunity to go to work each day knowing that their work matters deeply. Other popular perks include: a student-loan repayment program, mentoring and training programs, a transit subsidy, and access to daycare.
