Answer: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida spoke by telephone yesterday morning to discuss China’s November 23 establishment of an Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) and Iran. Secretary Kerry reiterated his own and Secretary Hagel’s recent statements on China’s ADIZ designation expressing concern about this action. FM Kishida congratulated Secretary Kerry on the P5+1 agreement with Iran on its nuclear program, and both expressed support for continued coordination on Iran.
