The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board has released its 48th Annual Report, highlighting the Fulbright Program’s major events, outreach efforts, partner country initiatives, and program statistical trends over the past year. The report features diverse firsthand accounts from Fulbright Program participants relating their life-changing Fulbright experiences. Chairman of the Board Tom Healy notes that this report demonstrates the longstanding “power of the Fulbright Program to promote connectedness among cultures, dreams and ideas.”

The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, is the U.S. government's flagship international exchange program that currently operates in over 155 countries. Through Fulbright grants, more than 325,000 participants have studied, taught, conducted research, and found solutions to shared international challenges. Fulbright alumni include over 29 current or former heads of state, 46 Nobel Laureates, and leaders from every sector of society.

The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board was established by the U.S. Congress in 1961. Members are appointed by the President of the United States and are charged with selecting program participants, setting policies, and promoting Fulbright grants to audiences around the world.

The report is available in digital and print editions and can be accessed online (http://eca.state.gov/fulbright/about-fulbright/j-william-fulbright-foreign-scholarship-board-ffsb/ffsb-reports).
