Coordinator Macon Phillips of the Bureau of International Information Programs traveled to Amman, Jerusalem, Nablus, and Ramallah from January 25 to 31.
In Amman, Coordinator Phillips led a delegation comprised of State Department and Smithsonian Institution personnel to review the outreach and engagement strategies of our American Spaces. He also met with private sector leaders and youth to discuss social media and civic engagement.
In Jerusalem, Nablus, and Ramallah, Coordinator Phillips met with alumni of U.S. government exchange programs, youth, non-governmental organizations, academics, journalists, and private sector leaders to discuss entrepreneurship, communication, and technology issues. He also had a conversation with Palestinian alumni of Department of State-funded exchange programs in Gaza via digital video conference (DVC).
