Secretary of State John Kerry will deliver the opening remarks at the World Ocean Summit 2014 via video teleconference at 12:15 p.m. on Feb. 25, 2014.
The World Ocean Summit 2014 is being held in Half Moon Bay, Calif., from Feb. 23-26, hosted by The Economist in association with the National Geographic Society.
The Summit will consist of leaders from government, international organizations, non-government organizations, businesses, think-tanks, and academia for a dialogue on oceans governance and sustainability.
Secretary Kerry’s remarks will address the threats posed to the world’s oceans and highlight the need for national and international action on ocean conservation.
