The Secretary of State has designated Under Secretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, Catherine A. Novelli, as the Department’s Senior Coordinator for International Information Technology Diplomacy.
In this role, Under Secretary Novelli will coordinate with the responsible departments and agencies the United States Government's diplomatic and foreign policy efforts related to international information technology issues and lead the forward-leaning, proactive work of the Department to advance American leadership on internet issues, working closely with the Coordinator for Cyber Issues, Christopher Painter, the Coordinator for International Communications and Information Policy, Ambassador Daniel A. Sepulveda, and other appropriate bureaus and offices in the Department.
The Under Secretary will also coordinate with the Counselor of the Department, Ambassador Tom Shannon, as he completes the diplomatic work he has been leading to address the concerns of foreign governments related to disclosure matters.
