Virginia PalmerDeputy Coordinator, Regional and Trans-Regional Affairs Directorate Virginia Palmer is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Before being named the Deputy Coordinator for Counterterrorism in September 2005, she was the Director of the East Asia Bureau’s Office of Economic Policy. She was Economic Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, where she was an active member of the Mission’s Counterterrorism Working Group. Previous tours include: Beijing, Hong Kong, Harare, and Calgary and the Office of Maghreb Affairs and the Operations Center in the State Department.
