Susan F. Burk
Deputy Coordinator, Homeland Security Directorate Ms. Burk coordinates the handling of cross-cutting policy issues concerning homeland security and counterterrorism involving the Department of State, the Department of Homeland Security, and other U.S. Government agencies. This includes representing the Department of State in appropriate interagency meetings as well as chairing a Homeland Security Coordinating Committee (HSCC) within the Department of State. Ms. Burk and her staff serve as a point of contact for the White House Homeland Security Council, the Department of Homeland Security, and other Federal agencies on homeland security issues with foreign policy dimensions. Prior to assuming her present duties, Ms. Burk was the Department of State's Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Nonproliferation Controls in the Bureau of Nonproliferation.
