Performance and Accountability Reports and Agency Financial Reports

The Performance and Accountability Reports combine detailed information on the Department's audited financial statements and performance results achieved. The Report is submitted to the President, Congress, and members of the public to inform on how well the Department performed in managing its programs and finances.

The Agency Financial Report for FY 2007 provides an overview of the Department's financial performance and results to help Congress, the President, and the public assess our stewardship over the financial resources entrusted to us.

The FY 2007 Report has been released in PDF and HTML.

Report Among Highest Rated
The FY 2005 performance report ranked second in the Mercatus Center's evaluation of which federal agency reports best inform the American public and their elected leaders. The Center notes that the State Department has had "a sustained surge from 20th place in fiscal 1999."
