The U.S. Department of State is proud to announce that Security Alliance of Florida, LLC is the recipient of the 16th Annual Department of State Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award. Security Alliance is a Hispanic American, 8(a) Business Development Program certified participant, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business based in Miami specializing in security guard services and a full spectrum of security and investigative services.
Despite this being their first overseas contract for local guard service, Security Alliance was able to successfully navigate the business and bureaucratic obstacles common to new operations in a foreign country. The company hired and trained a guard force that resulted in a 75% incumbent turnover ratio while concurrently resolving logistical and procurement needs through both importation and local purchase of officer equipment, a vehicle fleet and establishment of a radio station. Unfortunately, the firm assumed the contract at a time when the incumbent contractor was experiencing problems with local entities, inner turmoil and the Belizean government. Security Alliance’s project manager and transition team were able to dispel any concerns of local businesses and government offices and quickly establish themselves as a responsible partner in the Belizean business community. They have excelled in delivering both high quality professional technical performance as well as outstanding customer service in providing local guard services to Embassy Belmopan.
The purpose of the Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year Award is to recognize significant and outstanding contributions that small businesses make to the Department of State. The award demonstrates the highest degree of excellence in performance of Department of State contracts.
In addition, the following small business firms received Awards for Excellence: Buchanan & Edwards, Inc., Global-SaLUT, LLC, Link Solutions, and TKC Aerospace, Inc.
