Where can I find out if the United States is a party to a treaty?

You should look at Treaties in Force; A List of Treaties and Other International Agreements of the United States , a compilation which is to be published annually by the State Department. It can be accessed on the Treaties in Force page on this website. For recent actions, see the Treaty Actions page at this website.

If you are interested in the United States' or another country's participation status with respect to a multilateral treaty, it is also helpful to look at the status lists of the depositary for that treaty. Many depositaries may be contacted directly and also maintain on-line status lists. We have included several of those links on the ?Links? page at this website.
