Special Envoy for Middle East Peace

Ambassador David Hale was appointed Special Envoy for Middle East Peace in June 2011. Prior to that, he held the post of Deputy Special Envoy for Middle East Peace under former Senator George Mitchell. Ambassador Hale served as United States Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from 2005-2008, the Charge d’Affaires in Jordan from 2004-2005 and Deputy Chief of Mission from 2003-2004.
